The Classification of the Cutting and Grinding Wheel

There are many types of cutting and grinding wheels, and they can be applied in quite wide ranges.

(1)According to the abrasive materials

It can be divided into ordinary abrasive ( fused alumina and silicon carbide, etc. )grinding wheels, natural abrasive grinding wheels and super abrasive ( diamond and cubic boron nitride ) grinding wheels according to the abrasive materials.

(2)According to the shapes and bonds

Based on the different shapes, the cutting and grinding wheels can be divided into straight wheel, tapered wheel, cylinder wheel, straight cup wheel, dish wheel and so on; while based on the bonds, it can be divided into vitrified grinding wheel, resin bond wheel, rubber grinding wheel, metal grinding wheel. The main and unique parameters of the grinding wheel include abrasive material, grain size, hardness, bond, shape, size and some others.
